ABOUT US

The Charlotte Children's Center is a non-profit early education
program established in 1984 to help meet the growing need for
quality childcare.  It is licensed by the state of Vermont and is
fully insured.  The Charlotte Children's Center is accredited by
the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
This is a national accreditation that recognizes early childhood
education centers that adhere to strict standards of excellence.
The Director, an Associate Director, and the Curriculum Director
run the center.  The Center is governed by a Board of Directors,
which consists of 7 parents/community members who's focus is
to provide long-term strategic leadership to the Center. In
addition to the Director and Associate Director there is  a staff
of experienced and qualified teachers.  Parents are encouraged
and recruited to participate in Center activities including
assisting the Director in fund raising and community awareness
activities.
                 Our Philosophy

The Charlotte Children's Center considers children  to be the roots of our
curriculum and philosophy.

We believe that quality early experiences provide the building blocks for their
future successes and the foundation of a lifetime of learning.  We strive to
offer a wide variety of learning experiences through positive interactions with
peers, teachers, families, the community, and the environment both inside and
outside of our Center.  Through thoughtful guidance and modeling, we support
our children's work in building self-confidence, as well as respect for
themselves, their peers, and their community.
                                    Our Space
We are proud of our renovated Victorian
home.  We use our space and materials to
allow for discovery and freedom of
movement.  Our expansive playground is an
excellent outside classroom filled with
natural wonders.
              Families
We recognize that families are an integral part of the
team which makes each child successful.  There are
many ways for parents to get involved.  Whether it's
driving for a field trip, making play dough, helping at
parent work days or serving on the Parent Volunteer
Organization or the board; you are encouraged to be
involved in your child's experience at The Charlotte
Children's Center.  We count on the active support and
involvement of families to ensure continuation of our
high quality programming.
            The Staff
The Charlotte Children's Center is dedicated to hiring high
quality professionals with a background in Early
